UNIFY USA Washington DC flag run at the Jefferson Memorial

Washington, DC · August 8, 2026 · Jefferson Memorial

We brought the flags to the nation's capital. On Saturday, August 8, around 250 people met us right in front of the Jefferson Memorial for the DC stop on the UNIFY USA Flag Run Tour. Beautiful spot, great energy, and a crowd that was proud to be there. It was one of those mornings where you look around and remember exactly why we do this.

Before we moved out

We got everyone set at the memorial before the run. Proud American Beverage kept people going with their waters and energy drinks. Yappy Speaks handed out their bracelets, the kind you tap with your phone to pull up a Bible verse. Everybody got an American flag, and a lot of folks carried the America 250 flags too, which felt right with the country's 250th just behind us.

Around the Tidal Basin

Then we moved out. The route ran around the Tidal Basin with the Washington Monument sitting right across the water. The first mile we all went together as one group. After that the runners pushed ahead for three miles while the walkers did a two mile loop, and everybody came back and finished together right where we started.

The moment

The one that stuck with us happened on the bridge over the Tidal Basin. We looked back and saw a line of American flags moving across it with the monuments behind them. That is a picture we are going to be thinking about for a long time.

Thank you to our sponsors

The day would not have been the same without them. Proud American Beverage kept everyone fueled all morning, and Yappy Speaks put a little scripture in everyone's pocket with their tap-to-read Bible bracelets. Go give them a follow and some love.

See you on the road

To everyone who showed up in DC, thank you. You made the capital feel like home for a morning. Seven runs down and the map keeps filling in. Find your photos in the gallery, save the ones you are in, and tag us when you post so we can share them.
